It’s time to stop working out like your favorite celebrity and work out for your specific body type.

Your personal body type affects your workouts, and if you know yours, it can be quite helpful.
This is why one person can seem to eat whatever they like and another person can gain muscle seemingly overnight (exaggeration). The good news is that not everyone is just ONE size. (phew!) Workouts are not one size fits all.
Sometimes boxing isn’t right for you when you should be doing more Yoga or Pilates. Most people fall under the following three categories: Ectomorphs, Endomorphs and Mesomorphs. Which one do you think you are?
Here are descriptions and suggested workouts for each of the body types:
Endomorphs
store more fat, are usually pear or apple-shaped and are better at lifting weights. Furthermore, they have the ability to look “normal” once they lose weight.

Celebrity Body type: JLO, Beyoncé, Sophia Vergara, Oprah, Dita von Teese and Kim Kardashian.
Workout type: Full body training, HIIT training (download my FREE workout guide here) and workouts that focus on burning calories. Once a good foundation is established, it is safe to proceed to weight lifting.

Ectomorphs
are naturally skinny resulting in their difficulty with putting on muscle mass. This is why they are better designed for long distance running.
Celebrity Body Type: Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss and Calista Flockhart.
Workout type: Don’t do the same cardio as endomorphs, but focus on more resistance training. Prioritize building muscle mass and increasing bone density.

Mesomorphs
are naturally athletic and can pack on muscle very easily.
Celebrity Body Type: Serena Williams, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Angela Bassett.
Workout type: Vary your workouts and avoid doing just resistance training. If you’re naturally athletic look into trying Yoga or Pilates.
