Plastic waste is messing up our oceans and littering our land. Every plastic bottle you buy in a supermarket makes the problem worse. We have a fix. – Splosh
*Some items were gifted but all opinions are my own
As a result of the mounting amounts of plastic waste in our oceans, landfills and our streets, I have been in search of a solution for our household. Unfortunately, since many supermarkets have been stuck in their ways, the result has been us buying from various retailers online or traveling across London in my attempt to be waste free. This inadvertently leads me to spend more money on transportation costs, delivery fees and takes me away from other projects. Until I came across Splosh. All can be done from the comfort of my own home.

Splosh sends you new bottles upon purchase and once you’ve run out you simply request a refill and the refills come through the post. You don’t need to be home since they fit in your letterbox. Once you’re ready to refill your product, you pour in the refill concentrate and add water. The bottles are marked where you need to refill so there are no guessing games. If you already have your own bottles you can still use them and all you have to do is order the refills. Here are the instructions. Dilute at home using water and as a result, use less packaging and waste.
Pouches are reprocessed and used to make other things, which is way better than other companies who just throw the packages away. You simultaneously save resources and decrease landfill waste. Save your refill boxes as you will use those to return the refills to them as part of their in-house recycling programme.
1. Easy to Use
I can now order all of my household cleaning supplies from one place instead of multiple places. No more delivery fees from multiple retailers. All I do is dilute the concentrate and it’s ready to go. In the past, I had tried making my own eco-friendly products and I feel like I just spent more money on things like sal suds and had way more stuff with mediocre product. This also didn’t include the time I spent making cleaning supplies
2. Don’t have to Leave Home!
The less time I have to spend going to 5 stores the better. All you have to do is log in to your account or head to their app and order the supplies you need and you’re done.
3.Great Scents
Splosh has a wide range of scents and to be honest they all smell great! You’re also not being overpowered by perfumes often found in other non-eco-friendly ranges that are most likely more perfume than actual cleaning product. Even their laundry powder smells amazing. My favorite is the watermelon kitchen spray 🙂
4. Eco Cleaning That Actually Works!
I’ve been on many forums and review pages to find out what eco-friendly products actually work. In the past, my mum had tried to go eco-friendly with cleaning and laundry products and we just found that nothing ever really came out that clean. Dishes were greasy, laundry wasn’t clean enough and bathroom and kitchen spray surfaces were missing that oomph. I think this is why I have been reluctant to fully convert to all natural based products. I haven’t found that with Splosh. We found that we liked our Splosh kitchen cleaner, stain remover, and laundry detergent way more than our supermarket ones. In the past, for stain removing, I had used a spray from Tesco to stain treat my reusable makeup remover wipes. Even after a thorough wash, the makeup stains would not come out! But I recently used the Splosh stain remover and it was like brand new!
Splosh laundry liquids are not made out of palm oil and it’s clear that they have refined their solutions because I have yet to find one I don’t like.
5. Refillable
All items are refillable from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to lug your empty jars and bottles on the tube to a store to refill them. You’re also saving loads of plastic bottles as a result.
6. Sends You Reminders
These are important as I hate running out of stuff and am always on top of the amount of stock I have for each item. I despise nothing more than running to the store for that one item I ran out of. These reminders are great.
7. Free Delivery on Refills
8. No More Plastic Waste!
I cannot exaggerate how important this is. How many times have I received or purchased an eco-friendly item in the post and it’s wrapped in plastic or something that’s not recyclable. Splosh has thought through their entire process and everything is explained online or in the guide sent to you upon purchase.
9. They Have an App
Which makes things even easier. If you’re on the go, commuting to work, on the stair master on the gym you can order your Splosh within minutes. Sorted.
10. Bottles for Life
How many spray bottles have you purchased that has the nozzle poop out midway through? Loads! Splosh bottles are well made and they guarantee them for life that’s how confident they are in their product. Smooth spraying with a smooth sleek design.
11. Waste Gets Returned to Them
In addition to not having to go to the store to refill or purchase these items, you still don’t have to leave your home to return and recycle them. There are a lot of recycling programs around for various products, but they require you to trek out to a specific location or store. Which means yet another errand to run in between work, gym, grocery shopping and social events.
12. Keep Track of Many Bottles You’ve avoided Using
This is a fun part of the process and I like to check in and get updates on how many bottles of plastic I’ve prevented from landing in our oceans.
13. Pouches Actually get Reprocessed
The recycling process is a lot more complicated than a lot of us think. We think oh it’s recyclable and it makes us feel better about purchasing. In actuality, although an item can be processed, certain things can prevent them from actually being recycled like the sticker on the outside of the package. Mose things we purchase have a label or sticker on the outside. So if it doesn’t get recycled it only means that it’s going straight into a landfill and potentially in the ocean anyways. Sadly most things these days despite saying recyclable don’t get recycled.
According to Splosh, “The sad fact is: almost every plastic home cleaning and laundry bottle ultimately goes to landfill – and that’s not something you would imagine happens from looking at that neat little recycling logo.
