We love coupling each of our London walks with a stop at a standout cafe/coffee shop. This means we’ve visited some of the coolest, quirkiest, and most quaint cafes that London has to offer. This time we stopped by Candella Tea Room, which (of course) focuses more on top-quality tea.

Candella is situated on Kensington Church Street (just off of Kensington High Street). Inside, there are murals of cherubs, chandeliers overhead, and decoratively designed chairs, which make for a lovely place to sit for a while away from the rush of Kensington High St – so it would be easy to focus on the grand decor, however the food and drink stole the show. We opted for the afternoon tea, which is a real specialty of the shop. There was plenty of food on each tray, it was homely and filling, and of course, the tea was fantastic.

Candella’s owner takes real care over the blends on offer and even creates some blends herself. The service was excellent as well. We have enjoyed afternoon tea at plenty of venues in London and elsewhere – and Candella was very reasonably priced considering the location, setting, and quality on offer.
